Have you been on the fence about your desire for a new job or asking for a raise or promotion or even having that difficult conversation with a colleague?
I want to encourage you NOT to do this one thing…
Don’t wait for it to feel comfortable before taking action.
Giving into the pattern of waiting for comfort will only leave you STUCK right where you are.
Change will only come if you allow yourself to feel the DISCOMFORT OF GROWTH.
There’s just no way around it.
What is growth discomfort?
It’s the discomfort that accompanies doing something you’ve never done before. Whether that’s changing your career, going for a new position or asking for more money.
There will be that moment that you have to decide to take a leap of faith…
Even when your brain is doubting that you can do it.
Even when you don’t fully believe it’s possible to get what you want.
Even when you worry that people will be upset with you.
Even when you think that you’re being “irresponsible” by going after your dreams.
And you don’t know exactly “how” it’s all going to end up happening….
But if you want to make a change, you simply cannot listen to the voices in your head.
That’s truly the key to success.
You’ve got to decide to lean into faith over your fear.
To utilize COURAGE when you’re scared, and ignore your brain’s excuses and rationalizations.
Courage is the bridge between where you are and where you want to be.
Discomfort is the currency of your dreams.
Would you rather go all in on your dreams with the potential of failing, or not try at all, which guarantees failure?
So…my friend…don’t wait!
You are ready.
You deserve this.
If you’re feeling that mixture of scared + excited…then you are on the right path.
It’s time to lean into it and choose THE DISCOMFORT OF COURAGE and GROW into that person with a better relationship with your boss or that new job, salary or promotion.
